Bring on 2020…

With 2019 almost complete and I take off the Santa suit that staff coerced me into wearing for the annual Christmas photoshoot (yes, that’s me behind the white fluffy beard), I reflect on the year that’s been, ECF’s 29th year of operation.
Throughout the year we have collaborated with many fabulous and talented people, worked on some amazing projects, introduced a new European designed product range, welcomed new team members, participated in various events and supported our local community.
We have been involved in many projects this year ranging in size, complexity and nature across both our commercial and healthcare / senior living divisions. These included Betfair, TAC, Cotton On Global Services, Estia Southport, BUPA Merrimac, BlueCross Cresthaven, Cabrini Hospital and Australian Unity Mornington just to mention a few. A project highlight was Civilex’s offices being nominated for the Melbourne Design Awards. You can visit our website to check these out along with many more great projects from the year.
We welcomed some new faces with Carol, Stella, and Ned joining our healthcare / seniors living team, Carlie our commercial team, Cameron to office support and baby Walter Griffin and fur babies Napoleon and Ripley Harding to our extended family.
Our commitment to professional development continued throughout the year with all staff participating in training on a range of topics related to delivering exceptional customer service and continuous improvement. Belinda and Andrea commenced their pathway to obtaining professional qualifications in project management. In October we celebrated the MBA Graduation of our General Manager Heather McWhinney and in November congratulated Cameron Ferstl who is currently studying Associate Degree of Design (Furniture) at RMIT for winning an award for Best Signature Piece for his workstation creation.
In 2019 we continued to expand our range of products with the inspiring furniture from the Denmark based furniture company +Halle. In August we introduced this range at a Designers’ Exclusive Event at our showroom. We are excited about this this new addition which will have a selection made under licence in Australia. The new range includes: Easy Nest & Easy Nest Sofa, High Nest & High Nest Sofa, Low Nest & low Nest Sofa, Nest table range, Penny side tables, Plasma, Runway and Sally stool.
Our locally manufactured ‘Shift’ electric sit to stand workstation received AFRDI certification during 2019 displaying our continuing support to Australian manufactured products. This commitment is demonstrated extensively in both our commercial and healthcare furniture and is complemented by leading international brands.
Works have commenced on the refurbishment of our office and showroom in Abbotsford and look forward to completion of the project in early 2020 and welcoming you to visit us as we enter our 30th Year in business.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the ecf/HFA team to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year and wish you all a safe and happy festive season. We’ll see you all in 2020!
