From little things, big things grow
On 11 February 1991, David Lord and Simon Bilalis started a business at 235 Swan Street, Richmond and they called it Eastern Commercial Furniture. Their philosophy then was to be customer-focussed, provide fit-for-purpose solutions, quality products and to support Australian furniture manufacturing.
While their vision remains the same, there are some differences 30 years on: Managing Director, Simon Bilalis, is supported by a 20-strong team committed to the same goals, a 1200-square-metre showroom in Abbotsford and a healthcare furniture division.
The team kicked off the anniversary with some celebrations at our Melbourne office, with stories from Simon and David about how it all began. Messages flowed in from business partners, suppliers and clients congratulating us and wishing us the best for the future.
Thank you to everyone who contributed on the day and to those who have contributed to the success of the business over the part 30 years. We look forward to continuing these relationships well into the future.
