Hume city council's Newbury Community centre was designed for comfort and practicality while still achieving a distinct aesthetically pleasing appeal.
All furniture pieces were specifically selected depending on the area they were used in, these areas included maternal & child healthcare, community meeting rooms, computer rooms, multi-purpose rooms and offices.
The Maternal and Child healthcare rooms have pieces of furniture that considered the needs of both the Mother pre and post birth, taking into consideration seat heights, seat width comfortable for a range of sizes and usable for breast feeding
For the children's areas specially designed play tables and small
ottomans were used while in other rooms consideration was taken for flexibility and maneuverability to ensure maximum usability and ease of rearranging for staff.
All fabrics and finishes were chosen to compliment the architectural brief while maintaining a vibrant and positive, relaxed vibe. All fabrics chosen are easily maintained and cleaned for ensuring ease of cleaning regimes.
