Benetas St Paul’s Terrace in Frankston South showcases their move to a more person centred and relationship focused approach to care. Designed to inspire a more home-like environment it is separated into areas of 8 bedrooms with shared kitchen, dining, lounge and outdoor space. This is combined with dedicated carers for these areas enabling tailored, individual support to residents.
The use of internal courtyards throughout creates light and space as well as providing a picturesque outlook from the surrounding rooms which includes a café, theatre and wellness centre.
HFA worked closely with the designer and client to provide aesthetic solutions to suit the architectural design and intended use. A custom wall mounted joinery piece was designed and installed in the bedrooms to provide television related storage whilst also providing coverage for an unsightly power and data panel.
The project was well received by the community, potential residents and their families and serves as an example of the current transition within aged care from the traditional model to a more positive, holistic experience.
